The Ohio Commission on Hispanic Latino Affairs (OCHLA) funded by Ohio tax dollars, wrote a $3,500.00 check to the non-profit Hispanas Organizadas de Lake y Ashtabula (HOLA). OCHLA was established in 1977. Governor John Kasich recently signed our biennial budget which not only continues to fund OCHLA but included an increase.
HOLA is listed as a grassroots Latino organization based in NE Ohio focusing on Advocacy, Community Organizing and Civic Engagement, Veronica Dahlberg is the Executive Director and is a past Commissioner of OCHLA. In October 2014 Ms. Dahlberg was a recipient of the Distinguished Latino Ohioan Award at a Gala organized by OCHLA.
While crusading for yet another illegal alien to not be deported, Veronica Dahlberg had a message for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE):
"This is a purely heartless move by ICE, plain and simple. And based on the showing we had on Monday, ICE should be prepared to deal with the wrath of the entire community if they think they simply get away with ripping a father away from his children. This is not right, and we won’t stand for this. ICE either needs to follow their own policies and keep Ricardo with his family or face the consequences of their unjust and immoral behavior."
On July 27, 2015 a murder was committed in Lake County, less than 48 hours later Ms. Dahlberg came out with a statement about the suspect. She states the suspect was not a random illegal alien, that he has been waiting for a green card. FYI, you wait in your country of origin for your green card to be processed, not live illegally in the United States.
Our tax dollars should not be given to non-profits that advocate for illegal aliens.
